The Driftwood Review

The Driftwood Review was founded in December of 2007 by Terry Allen & Dennis Barton.

Terry Allen writes short fiction, poetry, and personal essays. Her work has been anthologized and published in some journals you’ve heard of, some you’ve not. After winning the President’s Writing Awards Contest in the personal essay category, she graduated Boise State University with a writing degree and a half-formed commitment to co-edit a literary journal with Dennis Barton, with the goal of supporting emerging writers and reading lots of good writing. Terry is also a theatre performer and playwright, living in a small house in Boise, Idaho, with her daughter, dogs, and cat.

Dennis Barton primarily writes poetry but has occassionally dabbled in fiction and screen writing. He recently became certified to teach Secondary English and is currently looking for a job while finishing a Master of Education degree.  The idea for The Driftwood Review began at Boise State University with fellow writer and classmate Terry Allen.  In 2007 he graduated with a degree in writing and several months later The Driftwood Review got off the ground. Dennis' work has appeared or is forthcoming in, cold-drill, 42opus, The Monongahela Review, Leaf Garden and others.
